In this role you will be primarily working with our Senior Sustainability Consultant and Director of Climate & ESG on GHG emissions data collection and analysis, developing emissions reduction strategies, and general client project management.

We anticipate that this internship will provide you with a crash course in carbon accounting and analysis – a key corporate sustainability skill invaluable to most sustainability consulting roles! The role will also provide you with an understanding of climate science and global standards (e.g. GHG Protocol, Science Based Targets initiative etc) and carbon neutral certification schemes (e.g. the Climate Active standard) – both growing areas of expertise within Australia and internationally.

About you

  • You have an attention to detail but when stuck, also know when to move on and ask for help.

  • You are a sustainability enthusiast, committed to making the world a better place for all current and future generations.

  • You’re a team player, comfortable working within a small, agile, and distributed team, but are also comfortable working autonomously.

  • You have advanced Microsoft Office skills – including proficiency with Microsoft Excel and the ability to build basic formulas (e.g. SUMIF and VLOOKUP), manage datasets with functions, and build graphs and visualisations).

To be successful in this role, you’ll bring:

  • Curiosity and passion for all aspects of sustainability.

  • An interest in climate change mitigation and emissions reduction.

  • Familiarity with broader Australian and International corporate sustainability standards, frameworks, and guidelines.

  • A general understanding of climate change policy and regulation within Australia.

  • Good time management skills.

  • High levels of self-motivation.

  • An open, fun, and agile attitude toward solving problems and learning new skills.

Key responsibilities:

Work location

This will be a hybrid role, where you will be required to work in our office in Albert Park a minimum of 1-day p week (however 2 days in the office is encouraged) – and the remaining day(s), will be spent working from home.
