Nature & Biodiversity Risk Assessment
“The insights from this work have been critical in identifying where our key biodiversity risks sit and how we can respond. Rewild’s structured approach has enabled us to take a proactive, informed position on nature across our tours and supplier network.”
— APT Project Team Member
Project Overview
APT Travel Group is a global travel company delivering curated touring experiences across diverse natural and cultural landscapes. As part of its commitment to responsible travel and sustainability leadership, APT sought to better understand its interaction with nature and biodiversity across its operations and supply chain.
Rewild Agency was engaged in 2025 to undertake a Nature & Biodiversity Risk and Impact Analysis, supporting APT’s broader sustainability strategy and progress toward B Corp certification. The project focused on identifying nature-related dependencies, risks and impacts across APT’s global tours and supplier network, while providing a clear pathway for integrating biodiversity considerations into decision-making.
Key Services Provided
Nature and biodiversity risk and impact assessment aligned with the Taskforce on Nature-related Financial Disclosures (TNFD) LEAP framework
Mapping of tour and supplier interfaces with sensitive ecosystems, including protected areas and Key Biodiversity Areas (KBAs)
Assessment of dependencies on ecosystem services and potential biodiversity impacts
Physical and reputational risk analysis using WWF Biodiversity Risk tools and ENCORE datasets
Strategic recommendations to support risk mitigation, integration and ongoing monitoring
Our Methodology
Rewild applied a structured, data-led approach based on the TNFD LEAP framework, tailored to APT’s global operations:
Locate: Identified geographic interfaces between APT tours, suppliers and environmentally sensitive areas, including biodiversity hotspots and pressure zones
Evaluate: Assessed dependencies on ecosystem services and potential impacts arising from tour operations and supplier activities
Assess: Analysed physical and reputational risks using leading datasets and tools, including WWF Biodiversity Risk Filters and ENCORE
Prepare: Developed targeted recommendations to embed nature considerations into strategy, operations and supplier engagement
This methodology translated complex, emerging nature-related frameworks into a practical and actionable approach for APT’s business model.
