6 Star Green Star Interiors v1.3. certification
“Rewild challenged the assumption that a 5 Star Green Star outcome was the ceiling for this project. Through clear advice, practical solutions and strong collaboration with our team, they ultimately enabled the fitout to achieve a 6 Star Green Star certification. Their ability to simplify the process while lifting ambition was a key contributor to the project’s success.”

Project Overview
SHAPE Australia’s Brisbane office was refurbished as an agile, high-performance workplace fitout at Level 5, 175 Eagle Street, Brisbane, strategically repositioned to maximise views to the Brisbane River and Story Bridge. The project sought to create a flexible, contemporary workplace that supports collaboration, wellbeing and sustainability leadership, while aligning with SHAPE’s national sustainability commitments.
Rewild Agency supported the project from early concept through to completion, providing end-to-end sustainability advisory services to guide the design and delivery team through the 6 Star Green Star Interiors certification process.

Key Initiatives
Circular economy–led procurement
Circularity was embedded across the fitout through prioritising recyclable and lower-impact products, donating existing furniture for reuse, and specifying materials with strong environmental credentials. Key materials included FSC-certified timber, cork and natural stone, with compliant PVC specified only where necessary (such as cabling and blinds).Material reuse and adaptive re-purposing
Materials were reused wherever feasible, including furniture and elements salvaged from SHAPE’s previous office. In addition, discarded site materials were creatively repurposed, reducing waste generation and embodied carbon associated with new materials.Responsible construction and waste management
The project achieved a 90% recycling rate for construction and demolition waste. This was supported by robust on-site waste separation, sustainable site practices and a clear operational waste management strategy aligned with Green Star requirements.Enhanced indoor environmental quality and wellbeing
Occupant health and comfort were prioritised through improved indoor air quality, reduced pollutants, strong acoustic and lighting comfort, and the specification of ultra-low VOC materials throughout. Integrated planting and greenery further enhanced the biophilic quality of the workplace, supporting wellbeing, productivity and connection to nature.Social value and innovation initiatives
Social sustainability was addressed through the inclusion of an on-site Reconciliation Action Plan (RAP) and the curation of works by local Indigenous artists. These initiatives supported cultural recognition, storytelling and broader Green Star innovation and social impact objectives.
